Acid or Alkaline?
Low Ph, below 7, means you are on the acid side
Above 7, indicates alkalinity
7.0 is considered neutral
How to check your body's Ph.
Get a pack of Ph strips, where you can check everyday.
You can lay the strip on your tongue for a couple of seconds and your saliva will change the strip to the Ph of your body, use the little card chart that comes with the Ph strips to see where you are as far as alkalinity.
Remember though if you check your Ph by your salvia, whatever you just drunk and ate will be what your Ph is at that time, for instance if you just had a cup of coffee, then you are probably going to show up right acid. For a more accurate reading, dip the Ph strip into your urine, it will tell what your over all Ph balance is. ( Do not check your first morning urine, it will be acidic, check miday or second morning bathroom trip).
A study done by the University of California- San Francisco on menopausal
women showed that higher acid levels, from a diet of animal foods,
"are at greater risk for lower bone density levels than those who have normal pH
levels."
Foods that form acid
- Coffe
- Tea
- Sugar
- Flour Products
- Pasta
- Dairy products(butter, cheese, Milk, Eggs)
- Soft drinks
- Alot of the oils
- Meats(all)
- It is suggested that 20% of acid food is all we need.
Foods that Alkaline
- Molasses(Black Strap is great!)
- Cabbage
- Cucumbers
- Squash
- Beets
- Soured Dairy Products
- Almonds, Figs, raisins,Dates
